"Fostering Executive Function at School & Home" tells the story of how Edward, a high school student struggling to submit assignments and manage school, learns the critical executive function skills to engage with school while also showing the way parents and providers can support this process. Â Through coaching, Edward and his family are able to learn how to effectively manage school and experience rapid growth in both confidence and academic performance. Parents and professionals will learn strategies that include:
- How to use solution-focused questioning
- How to use communication templates to more effectively communicate with teachers
- How to facilitate a Family-Team Meeting to engage a student and their family in the education process
- How to leverage available technology to save time and energy
This presentation will be useful to parents and professionals and can serve as an introduction into how to effectively support middle, high school and college students with executive function challenges.
