Maria Esquivel, M.Ed in Special Education
Credentialed Special Education Teacher #170120039
Hello! My name is Maria.
I am a credentialed special education teacher with twenty four years of experience, including an Autism Spectrum Authorization and Crosscultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD). I also have a Master’s degree in Special Education with additional courses in Reading Assessment and Planning, Advanced Differential Analysis, Lindamood-Bell (LiPS and V/V), Wilson Reading System, and Orton-Gillingham/Institute for Multi Sensory Reading. I am fluent in both English and Spanish.
I am experienced in supporting students with a wide variety of challenges, including ADHD/ADD, autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disability, and physical challenges. I have worked with a very diverse group of students, and have had many successful experiences with students and families from different cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I have seen my students transform from self-doubters to self-confident learners; from learners to teachers.
In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, and reading. Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with my daughters, exploring nature and experimenting in the kitchen with baking and cooking.
