Hello! I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Being that my family is from the beautiful island of Cuba, I was lucky enough to be brought up in a fully bilingual household, which has presented me with so many wonderful opportunities. I have 12 years of full-time classroom teaching experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-6), and a Master’s degree in Reading Education (K-12). I am also an Associate Educational Therapist, which gives me the expertise and experience to work with clients at different age levels and with various learning issues, such as specific learning disabilities, ADHD, and others. This means that I could also support adults with ADHD or other challenges they may be struggling with by being their accountability partner and working collaboratively to address specific needs and personal goals. Through individualized sessions tailored to my client’s needs, I can help them concentrate on where they are now, where they want to be, and how to get there. I can help initiate the positive change you need in your life today!
As a Literacy Specialist, I understand the complexity of reading as a science, and I have made it my life’s mission to share my love of reading with my students and to help them understand that everyone can be a good reader! Throughout my 12 years as a classroom teacher, I witnessed time and time again how a lack of executive function skills can have a direct negative impact on a student’s reading achievement. This is why I understand the importance of helping students develop and strengthen the necessary skills to help them thrive in school and realize their maximum potential. Through our solution-focused approach, your child can gain confidence and experience what it’s like to have a successful and stress-free school year!
